Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership skills to ensure the efficient and effective management of our distribution and warehouse processes.
Job Objective: Highly skilled and experienced Distribution Centre and Logistics Manager responsible for the distribution operations and management of St Ives warehouse facilities.
Distribution Management: EMEA
* Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize efficiency and customer delivery performance and minimize costs.
* Coordinate and oversee transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
* Monitor and analyse distribution performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
* Drive service and cost ‘final mile’ delivery performance excellence through expert contract management of all 3PL couriers servicing UK, Ireland, and Mainland regions.
Strong and Effective Leadership:
* Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and forklift operators.
* Lead and inspire operational teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and productivity and drive people engagement in line with Acushnet values.
* Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Develop impactful internal/external relationships with key stakeholders in the business.
Warehouse Management:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
* Develop and implement warehouse processes and procedures to maximize space utilization, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings initiatives within the distribution and warehouse operations.
* Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to distribution and warehouse management.
* Control and manage budgets and CAPEX
Education: Strong educational focus in maths and English (ideally degree level)
Experience: Proven and extensive experience in distribution and warehouse management in a leadership role.
Specialised Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong knowledge of distribution and logistics principles, practices, and regulations.
* Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to lead and successfully execute change management projects that transform operational capability and customer experience
